Favicon is a small image of size 16x16 or 32x32 px which is used on the left side in the browser's address bar and it also appears in the browser tab as you can see it in the following image. Why should we use Favicon for Blogger? Answer, generally it gives a professional look to your Blogger blogs. You already bookmarked many blogs or websites in your browser, and let you want to open any bookmarked page then you will go to the bookmarked menu page and try to find out the bookmarked page, but if the bookmarked page has its own Favicon then you would find it easily that is also an advantage to use the favicon for Blogger. You may also hide your Blogger navigation bar to make your blog more pretty. I am already using a custom Favicon for this blog, you can see it live.
Why to add Favicon? Be like a pro and blog like a pro. In order to show your blogs identity and uniqueness you need to remove that default Blogger icon and add your custom favicon.
How to Generate Favicon in Blogger
Adding custom favicon in Blogger is too easy. In order to change default Blogger favicon all you need is a ready made favicon of yours. You might have already created a logo for your blog. Now Go to favicon.cc and create a favicon and download the icon file.
Add or Change favicon icon
- Log in to your Blogger's Dashboard
- Go to the Layout
- Click on the favicon Edit link usually present at the top left corner.
- Now hit "Choose File" button.
- Browse for your own image(should be less than 100 KB) and select it.
- Blogger will automatically re-size it,and finally hit the "Save" button.
Now refresh your blog you will see your new favicon,If you can't then delete browsers cookies and caches then visit your blog.
