How to create categories and assign post to category in Wordpress

In WordPress category is organize your post. It can sort or group of content into different sections, A website can publish content on the variety of topics can be divided their website into sections using categories. For example – a new website for news creates under Breaking News, Weather, Sports, Opinion etc.

If you can not specify the category for the post then a post is automatically filed into the default category like ‘uncategorized’ .

Steps of see Existing Categories on Wordpress

• Go to post a link on dashboard into the left side, the popup appears then click on ‘categories’ in that menu.

• Categories page will be open and you can see all the existing categories from this page.

Steps of Adding  New Category into your website

• Click to all category page, after new category form will appear to fill all fields.

  

• Name – Enter the name of the new category.
• Slug – slug is URL text what you want to display in an address bar.
• Parent – This is the main category if you want to create child category under it.
• Description – in this field, you can write the description of the new category which you can create.

Step 2. After clicking all field you can see create the new category just like .

• Add post into category
• Click to post on the right sidebar.
• Click on the new post.

How to Publish your First Post in Wordpress - ibuildblog

Wordpress has displayed your blog posts on your home page. Posts are which can dynamically change, means you can publish regularly post according to your interest. Here given below to steps  publish your first post in WordPress

• First, step,Login into your WordPress blog.

• Click the post link in the left sidebar of the dashboard. The menu will be pop up and then click on a new post in that menu.

• New post dialogue box is appearing first you enter the heading of the post in the first line.

 

• After that enter the blog title you can insert blog content into WYSIWYG editor. It has two tabs – Visual ( use the editor to format your text ) and Text ( where you can insert HTML code directly).
• Now next step if you can insert media like images or videos in the post then select Add Mediator on the left text are given to add the content to your post.

 

• After selecting Add media next window will appear, it will show some box to uploaded any new image from your system by clicking “upload files”.

• After upload image, you can select insert into Post Button.
• Now you can create the category of the post from the right sidebar of the dashboard, you can add the new category by selecting Add New Category.

• Write tags of related to your post on the sidebar. You can choose multiple tags for the single post.

• Next step to add comment option in your post, for this you can select screen option and a pop window will appear.

• Select the discussion option from the window.
• Now move down the screen and a discussion box will appear, select the allow comments and allow trackbacks and pingbacks on this page.

• Next, below you can select to change the layout for your post such as no sidebar, full width, one column, left sidebar, right sidebar.

• Now after writing the content in the post you can select “preview”on the top right of the dashboard. It will show you a preview of your post.
• If you don’t select the post your wish to delete the post, for this click on ‘Move to trash" option given on the bottom left the corner of publish window. 

• Finally, if you preview everything is ok the last step to publish the post on your website, click on publish button on publish window.

How to install Wordpress on Your PC Using WAMP - ibuildblog

Wordpress is open source content management system based on PHP and MYSql. Wordpress  is used to create awesome website or Blog. It is most popular create blogging system on the web, and used more than 24.3% of the top 11 million websites.

Wordpress is developing by Matt Mullen and Mike Little in 2003. There is a number of Plugin and widget available, used to develop the website. In WordPress, you can use predefined develop the template which is free available on www.wordpress.org to create blog or website. You can run WordPress on local PC or remote host.

So let’s start, first, you need to require WordPress or WAMP,XAMP on local PC. WAMP server provides the server host environment to run or test the WordPress on a local machine.

Install the WAMP Server

• First, WAMP servers download from http://www.wampserver.com .
• Click the setup and follow the instruction properly, you can set the location of WAMP server C:\.
• After install you can check the c:\wamp folder is created in c: drive. And then another folder inside is created in www.

After complete install, you can turn on the wamp server.

Install the Wordpress on local computer using WAMP

• First, you can download WordPress on http://www.wordpress.org .
• Extract the folder or rename, or copy the WordPress folder and put inside c:\wamp\www folder.
• Now before complete the setup of WordPress, you need to configure the database from PHPMyAdmin into WAMP server like http:\\localhost\\phpmyadmin.

Database Configure

• Open the PHPMyAdmin.

• Select the Database, then given the name like WordPress example and select create button.

• After all, you can select the localhost > WordPress > create a configuration file .
• After click creates a configuration file you should like this.

• Click on Let’s go. You should like this after.

• You can enter the database name which is created PHPMyAdmin like WordPress example And username, password, Database host, Table prefix.

• After then you can click on Run install. You should like this:

• After complete successful steps, you can install the WordPress on local PC. Now after you can login in

• And given the username or password which before you can select.
